Diana Camacho has always been a leader. It made sense for her to seek election to the Class of 2027‘s Secretary position.

Her Freshmen Year, she ran for President of the Class of 2027, and after losing to Zai Xiang, she still committed her time to her class by helping out wherever it was needed.

When Sonya Pokhrel announced she would be running for Vice President of the Class of 2027, Camacho decided she would run for Secretary.

“I think what inspired me to become Class Secretary would be the amount of spirit and community ASB has.”, Camacho said in an interview with The West Campus Times.

“There’s always something positive that can be made so I think that passion has been through me as I’ve been running.”

Camacho has been involved in Student Government since elementary school, stating, “I’ve been running for ASB for since third grade, whether it’s an appointed position or just a position as a member.”

“Not all the time have I succeeded, but I’ve gone through and through to run again and again, and I probably will run again and again because I’m dedicated to my cause.”says Camacho.

I recently had a phone call interview with Camacho to discuss her campaign, and why she was running.

The full interview can be listened to on The Elections podcast, available on Spotify and Youtube.

Camacho will be facing incumbent officer Mahi Fnu on the May 23rd election.
