a lonely fern stands by herself in the forest
beneath the towering redwoods she rests
as alone as she feels she tried her best
but wishes she was a baby bird in the comfort of it’s nest
there’s an aching to be loved planted deep in her chest
the fern would never confess
the sadness her delicate leaves possessed
