On the 28th of February, around 200 students from West Campus High School walked out in protest of executive orders relative to immigration by the Trump Administration.
Students walked from West Campus High School, to 58th Avenue, onto 14th Avenue, and then down to 65th Street, from then they went on 21st, and protested back near campus.

“The loss in attendance was definitely noticeable,” says one student. “After lunch it was completely empty in the hallway, there were people lingering for sure, but it was almost as if school had already ended and everyone went home.”
“I noticed the big amount of people gone in my 5th period,” says a teacher. “It was quiet during passing period, there was barely anyone in the hallway.”
Students were met with support from traffic. Cars passing along the route often beeped at the students in support.
Students were also protected by the Sacramento Police Department and Sacramento City Unified Safe Schools units, who followed the students along the way to make sure they were safe.
“The youth are the ones who will create change for our future, we need to be taken seriously if we are expected to create that change.” A protester says.
